Extended Seakeeper Warranties

Coverage that continues past the factory term, so an unexpected repair doesn’t land on you in the middle of a season.

Why owners take it

The repair you don’t budget for is the expensive one

A gyro stabilizer is a serious piece of machinery in a hostile environment. Most owners go years without an unplanned repair — and then one component lets go, and the bill for parts plus labor plus a technician’s travel arrives in the middle of July.

Extended coverage moves that from a surprise to a known number. It also travels with the boat: a unit still under coverage is worth more at sale than an identical one that isn’t, and buyers notice.

The catch is timing. Eligibility depends on the age of your unit and its service history, and once the enrollment window passes it doesn’t reopen. If your factory term is inside its final year, this is the conversation to have now rather than next season.

Coverage

What’s covered, and what isn’t

Read both columns. A warranty is only as good as its exclusions, and we’d rather you know them now than at claim time.

Covered

  • Mechanical and electrical component failure
  • Labor to diagnose and complete the repair
  • Technician travel to the vessel within the service area
  • Hydraulic and brake system components
  • Cooling system components and raw-water pump
  • Control electronics and display units
  • Transfer to a new owner if you sell the boat

Not covered

  • Scheduled annual service and routine maintenance
  • Consumables — fluids, anodes, filters, strainer elements
  • Damage from missed service intervals or a skipped rinse-down
  • Corrosion from documented neglect
  • Damage from grounding, collision, fire or storm
  • Work performed by an uncertified third party
  • Haul-out and yard fees
Coverage depends on service history

Keeping the annual service current isn’t a formality — it’s what keeps a claim payable. Every service we perform goes into your file, so the record is there when you need it.

Send us your model, serial number and roughly when the unit was commissioned. We’ll tell you which plans you’re still eligible for and what each one costs.

How it works

Enrolling

  1. 01

    Eligibility check

Send the model, serial number and commissioning date. We confirm which plans your unit still qualifies for.

  2. 02

    Inspection if required

Units outside their factory term usually need a current inspection before coverage starts. Often this can be combined with your annual service.

  3. 03

    Terms and enrollment

You get the full policy document, not a summary. Read the exclusions before you sign — we’d rather answer questions now.

  4. 04

    On file

Coverage is recorded against your unit, and we track your service intervals so nothing lapses that would void a claim.

Common questions

Warranty questions

How long is the factory warranty, and when should I extend?

Factory terms vary by model and by when the unit was commissioned. The practical answer: check your paperwork, and if you’re inside the final year of coverage, talk to us. Eligibility narrows as the unit ages and closes entirely at a point.

My factory warranty already expired. Am I out of luck?

Not necessarily, but options are more limited and usually require a current inspection first. Send us the details and we’ll tell you straight whether anything is still open to you.

Does coverage transfer if I sell the boat?

On most plans, yes — and it’s worth real money in a negotiation. Tell us before you list, because there’s usually paperwork to file at transfer.

Do I still have to pay for annual service?

Yes. Scheduled maintenance is a separate cost, and keeping it current is a condition of coverage. A warranty covers failures, not upkeep.

What voids coverage?

The usual culprits: missed service intervals, work by an uncertified third party, and damage from neglect rather than failure. The full exclusion list is in the policy document, and we’ll walk you through it before you sign.

How do claims actually work?

You call us, we diagnose it, and we handle the claim paperwork. You shouldn’t be the one arguing with a warranty administrator about a fault code.
