The part that matters
A gyro stabilizer works against the boat’s roll axis, and how well it works depends on where it sits, how the foundation transfers load into the structure, and how the cooling and power runs are routed. Get that right and the owner notices the difference the first time out. Get it wrong and you’ve spent serious money on a compromise.
That’s why every installation we take on starts with a survey and, where the structure calls for it, engineering input from a naval architect. We’d rather tell you a placement doesn’t work than build it and hope.
It’s also why we’ll occasionally talk an owner out of a unit that’s too large for the vessel. Sizing up isn’t always the answer, and a unit that can’t be fed enough power or cooling won’t deliver what the spec sheet promises.
How it works
Five stages, each with a decision point. You know the cost and the timeline before the boat is committed.

We come to the boat, look at the available spaces, and assess structure, power and cooling. You get an honest read on what’s possible.

Placement and foundation worked out properly, with naval architect input where the structure requires it.

A fixed scope, a fixed price and a yard window. Most installations are planned around a scheduled haul-out.

Foundation, unit, seawater cooling, power and helm integration — finished to a standard you’d be happy to show someone.

We commission the unit, run it under way with you aboard, and hand over documentation plus your first service interval date.
Upgrades
Newer generations run quieter, spool faster and ask less of the boat’s power and cooling. If your unit is aging or facing a repair that’s hard to justify, a trade-in is often the better math.

Common questions
The unit is one number and the installation is another, and the second depends heavily on your boat — available space, what the foundation needs, and how far the power and cooling runs have to travel. We won’t guess at it over the phone. The survey is what turns it into a real figure.
Most installations are planned around a scheduled haul-out and measured in weeks rather than days. We’ll give you a window with the quote and tell you promptly if anything moves.
Length is the starting point, not the answer. Displacement, hull form, how you use the boat and what your power and cooling can support all factor in. That’s the conversation the survey is for — and occasionally it ends with us recommending a smaller unit than you expected.
Often, yes. Refits are a good part of what we do. The survey tells us whether the structure and systems can support it without compromises you’d regret.
Regularly. We coordinate with yards and builders on new construction and on refits, and we’re comfortable being one trade among several on a project.
